my brother, ryan, came to town for 34 hours. we had some genuine times out, as barcelona won some "football" match vs. manchester united, and all the city went crazy.

anna and i had our kinda "3 years since we smooched it out" anniversary in bilbao for a few days here in april.

my dermatologist told me back in october that i had symptoms of pre-cancer on my face and nose. awesome news, as i was also recently deported from europe at the time.

i did what she suggested and covered my face in the sun, used this potent cream daily, and tried to avoid that pesky old sun as much as possible. tough, as my job entails filming when the light is nice. i.e. mid day.

anyway, enough about me, let's talk about you.

i wanted to warm you about what recent findings have been brought to my attention:

well apparently, a chemical used in the paper/ink mixture has been known to be harmful since the dinosaur era (not really, but can you imagine a tyrannesaurus rex getting a receipt?) has recently been found to be cancer-causing and also should not be handled if pregnant or elderly.

long story short... fool me twice, shame on me.

so long, receipts! you were pests anyway!

anna and myself trecked out to the states for 3.5 weeks to check out some good times.

we traveled something like 2550 miles (3600 km?) and it was awesome.

holland/belgium pt.1

dc sent us on a trip to holland and belgium for two weeks. overall, i'd have to say it was an amazing time, less a few tickets, an arrest, and a car being broken into, thus resulting in one less computer, an ipod, a phone, a wallet, and a passport.

but you can't win 'em all!

birdman left some bird droppings behind for a few days after the birdhouse demos here in barcelona. here's my buddies, clint and randy, as they hit the mean streets of barna. it was clint's first time out, so he was going nuts. randy is a barca vet, and found himself in the hungover state more often than not.

10:20 am. friday.

i wake to a phone call, after a night of celebration that the tour has ended. it's adrian, the team manager.

"hey! our train leaves at 10:45. you must leave NOW!"

me, "uuuughhhhh, whaaaaaa??? i thought it was 12:45?!?"

adri, "i checked the wrong day last night."

so i jump up, brush my teef, and spray my face with sunblock.

i run. i run, and i never run.

i get to the station, about two miles from my house, covered in sweat. i see adri.

"our train is at the stop. tell the others to get there now!"

here's madars, nearly still asleep. he said the morning hit so suddenlt that there was no way that a hangover could hit him.

bruno, who seemed like he'd never seen a theme park in his life.

me, adri, and bruno on the wet-ass water ride.

then we opted for a 115 meter free fall ride. bruno, on the other hand, is deathly afraid of heights and wanted to die/cry/shart himself.

115 meters... 38.3 stories tall.

here's madars and bruno, next to the two most brave/stupid people i've ever seen. it must have been 32 degrees outside, with helluv humidity, and these freaks must have been just about dead in those suits.

on the 15th, i went to germany, munich, en route to austria. first thing's first - grab a beer from hell. a hell of a beer.

Soon afterward at the hospital, he was diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), a debilitating neurological disease that has taken away much of his equilibrium and as a result, his skateboarding ability.Lee’s treatment is expensive and is one that could very well last the rest of his life.

Not one to give up by any means, Lee has learned of an experimental, treatment called the Liberation procedure (or CCSVI) in Europe that has garnered an 80% success rate. However the chance to try out this treatment will cost him close to $12,000. And of course, since this alternative treatment is not recognized by US doctors, there are no medical insurances stepping right in to assist in covering the cost. With the kind help of Cowtown skates,Real skateboards, and many of his friends and family, a collective effort is underway to raise money to get Lee to Europe in the near future.

anyway, a lot of stress went into these past few months, having been banned from europe, and all the lawyer mess, etc.

i wanted to take this time to thank my parents, len and denise adams. i could not have made it through this mess without your help. i would have driven myself insane.

you are kind, loving, wonderful folks. best i could have asked for, and i love you. see you in spain in a day and a half!

i cruised out to the los angeles area with my buddy, cab, who's photos i am now stealing.

i'd forgotten my camera in our ride's car and didn't see them throughout the weekend.
